“Wow! Look at our beautiful computer lab!” As our students streamed into the newly refurbished computer lab, their eyes lit up, and their gait showed confidence as they sat at brand new desks in swivel chairs with Dell laptops ready to go. Standing quietly in a corner observing the action was Mr. Albert Williams, the generous benefactor and a steadfast community builder. Just about a year ago, Albert walked into a drab, unpainted and dimly lit room. We dreamed of a computer lab with appropriate seating/furnishing, most up-to-date SMARTboard, laptops and software accessories. He immediately decided to make our dream come true. He managed the repair and remaking of the room, invited conferencing about colors and how we envisioned the room, and used his expertise and other resources that allowed us to dedicate an impressive computer lab this past Fathers’ Day.
Such a commitment to education in the community should be recognized. Albert demonstrated generosity; he modeled efficient project management, and such delivery is an achievement which should be brought to the attention of the wider community and our youths especially.
